The world’s most recognizable face of survival and outdoor adventure is bringing the ultimate class in self-rescue skills to Snow Mountain Ranch again this summer! This is a rare opportunity for outdoor enthusiasts to learn Bear’s extreme survival techniques through “the most challenging but empowering survival courses on the planet.” Participants will learn improvised wilderness first aid, emergency shelter builds, harsh terrain navigation by day and night without a map or compass, rope skills for crossing difficult terrain, survival knife skills, fire lighting, foraging for food by setting snares and traps, and dynamic self rescue techniques in this intense, 24 hour course. On April 26th, nine employees of the Estes Park Center – YMCA will graduate from the TREK Program; on May 9th, thirteen employees of Snow Mountain Ranch – YMCA will graduate. For the past eight months, they have worked in various departments at their respective locations, as well as completed studies and service related to this Christian gap year program. The TREK program was specifically designed for youth ages 18-24 who want to take an extra year after high school to find their path.
