Growing up in Colorado, there are few places that I would say I remember as a child more than Estes Park and the YMCA of the Rockies. This was a place where a few times a year, we as family or friends were able to get away out of the normal day-to-day, and really get back into nature and bond as a family.
The rustic, quiet nature of the YMCA of the Rockies always regenerated the relationship with nature, family, and yourself. It was a way to have fun, get exercise, see something new or just relax in front of a fire and enjoy the day.
The smell of the wood, air, and the laughter of the group will always remind me of great times, great days (snow days included!) and overall family bonding for years past and years to come.
