The YMCA of the Rockies, both at Estes and Snow Mountain, mean fun, growth, learning and family. I’ve participated in events at the Estes Center for at least 40 years (including family reunions, waitressing one college summer and preaching a few times as an adult, even Yoga Journal Conferences). I always go away a better person for having been there. Though we have much less history at Snow Mountain (me attending and leading worship through dance at regional Christian Church [Disciples of Christ] women’s gatherings), our little family of three has participated in Chinese Heritage Camp at Snow Mountain two years out of the last four and are coming to love it, too. We especially like having opportunities in mountain nature while learning and sharing with other families like ours, such as hiking, putting our feet in the cool (ok, cold) stream, creating art and maybe most notably, enjoying horseback riding and a hay ride.
